nut bowls

This set of 4 (pea)nut bowls are made from speckled clay with a blue coloured slip on the inside. After the slip is brushed on, I use a carving tool to display sgraffito technique, scratching away the surface to reveal the underlaying clay. A transparent glaze is put on the inside. Since I high fire all my ceramics, everything is waterproof  and food safe, even when left unglazed. It is also dishwasher safe although I recommend handwashing since detergents can be harsh and ceramics get chipped easily in a machine.
