cake plates

These are some of the cake plates I have made. I’m in the process of making a matching serving platter, which should be done in about a week. These plates are 14,5 cm and have an unglazed bottom and rim to showcase the beauty of the clay. The surface is polished thoroughly to give it a nice smooth finish. The white shiny glaze forms a nice contrast with the bare clay. These dishes are high fired and can go in the dishwasher, but be careful since dishwashers use harsh detergents and ceramics easily gets chipped in a dishwasher. So hand wash is the advice.
